Lima â€‹is the exquisitely unique capital of Peru, located on the arid Pacific coast.

Nasca Lines Landing Strip - â€‹The Pectoglyphs, ancient geoglyphs, are etched in the Nazca Desert. They cover an area of 450 km squared.

Nazca Lines, The Spider - All of the shapes are huge and, therefore, must be seen from the air.

Inca Stones - The huge boulders were perfectly cut to fit together without mortar. Not even a razor thin blade can fit between. We still don't have the technology to accomplish this today.

Aguas Calientes - To get to the Lost City of Machu Picchu, take the train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes. "Aguas Calientes" means hot water in Spanish. A hot springs bath in Aguas Calientes is a great idea before the recommended challenging climb, up Huayna Picchu.

Rings of Moray - â€‹This Incan agricultural site is built with terraced circular depressions.

Sacsayhuaman - â€‹Only 1/4 of this megalith complex, built for 10,000 men, remains today. It is located above Cusco.

Machu Picchu - In 1911 Hiram Bingham made the discovery of the Lost City, located in a very high area of the Andes Mountains.

Llamas and Alpacas - These unique animals roam around everywhere on the slopes of Machu Picchu.

The Ultimate Adventure - These steps are the last ones to take before reaching the summit of Huayna Picchu. I have lived this experience with my son Greg.

​Going Back Down - Going down is always easier than going up and it is much more thrilling.

Machu Picchu - By far, the most exhilarating experience I have ever lived. We traveled up by the Hiram Bingham train and ran into Richard Gere with his family.

Lake Titicaca - The lake was considered sacred by the Incas. At 12,500 ft. it is one of the highest in the world. it creates a natural border between Peru and Bolivia.

Lake Titicaca - The unique gorgeous blue, is due to its deep waters. The native people created man made islands called Uros Islands. They also built all kinds of reed boats.

Travel Ecuador

Quito is the beautiful capital of Ecuador. It is situated at 2,850 meters /9,115 feet, in the Andes mountains.

Biking the Waterfall Route is a superb excursion from Baños because of the many amazing waterfalls and zip-lines. Experiencing at least one canopy tour is a must, and the bonus is seeing the incredible never-ending gorges.

Papallacta Hot Springs - The incredible natural hot springs are on the slopes of Papallacta. Papallacta is the highest town in Ecuador at 3,300m. Water surrounds this town and trout is supplied daily to local restaurants. The town is 70 km east from Quito on the road going toward the Amazonian jungle.

Baños - Adventure

Cuicocha Lake - Cuicocha is a crater-lake at 9,000 ft. elevation, formed about 3,000 years ago, when the crater of the volcano collapsed during an eruption. The crater was covered with snow, which eventually melted and formed the lake. You can take a motorized boat ride out and around the two islands but you can't hike on them because it is a refuge for endangered plants and animals.

Cascadas de Peguche is a popular attraction located 3 km north of Otavalo, 90 km north of Quito. In Otavalo we find an important Indigenous market of the Andes Mountains. The waterfall is the site of an Indigenous Ceremony of purification baths. 

La Mitad del Mundo - The Middle of the World. The monument is situated northwest of Quito. Most people consider it a must, to get a picture while straddling the equator. A French explorer calculated the world’s equatorial line and this complex was build to commemorate this site.

Cotopaxi National Park - Cotopaxi Volcano at 5,897m is one of the most active and highest volcano in South America. The park is located 50 km south of Quito. Exploring the park can be done by hiking or biking.

Panama Hats - Contrary to popular beliefs, Panama hats are not made in Panama. They are made in Monte Cristi, a town east of Manta.

Kicker Rock at Isla San Cristobal - This amazing diving site in the Galapagos, is named this way because of the shapes of the rocks. This is a very popular diving site out of San Cristobal. Diving in the Galapagos in legendary and encounters with: sea lions, penguins, seals, eagle rays, marine iguanas, hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, turtles, whale sharks , and amazing fish, is common place.

The Galapagos Islands – The Galapagos Islands are located 1000 km west of Ecuador's Pacific coast. These volcanic islands are well known for their wildlife and most of the animal species are not perturbed by human activity. The terrain of the archipelago has a unique diversity of plants and animals. Darwin's theory of evolution was apparently inspired by this location.

Whale Watching - Around the Galapagos Islands, whale watching is best in July, August and September.

The other great spot for whale watching is off the Pacific coast of Ecuador. The best time is June to October. The humpbacks give birth to their calves during these months after their long migration from the Antarctic. Whale watching tours leave regularly from Salinas and Puerto Lopez. 

Travel Colombia

Monserrate Funicular - A practical way to get to the top of Monserrate, a mountain in the center of Bogota.

Parque Jaime Duque - The Park is situated in a town just north of Bogota, it has at least 30 unique attractions and 700 statues.

Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira - This underground church was built in a tunnel of a salt mine in Zipaquira, north of Bogota.

Haunted Hotel del Salto at Tequendama Falls -The abandoned hotel is now a museum of biodiversity and culture. The waterfall is 157 meters high and it is located 30 km south west of Bogota. 

The National Coffee Park - A famous tourist attraction near Armenia, where you can learn about the production of coffee and enjoy the theme park.

River of Five colors-Cano Cristales

From June to November, this river turns into these amazing colors due to the presence of a special plant in the river floor. 

Villa de Leiva - A beautiful colonial town 3.5 hours north of Bogota. This town with beautiful streets paved in stone is a very popular weekend destination. I had the privilege to life there for 6 months. See TETIANA.

Raquira -​ This unique brightly colored town, situated 25 km west of Villa de Leiva, literally means "city of pots". This is the pottery capital of Colombia.

The Colombian Amazon - â€‹Pristine jungle, amazing wild life, and the famous Amazon River, are essential contributors of Amazonia, the Amazon basin. Amazonia covers 1/3 of Colombia's total area.

The 4 hot spring pools of various temperatures offer instant relaxation. Afterwards, cool off in the beautiful waterfalls.

Santuario de las Lajas - â€‹A basilica church built inside the canyon of a river. It is located in Ipiales, close to the border of​Ecuador.

Cartagena - A modern city with beautiful colonial buildings situated on the Caribbean coast. In the core of the city is the walled Old Town.

Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta - 

These are unique Ecohabs (eco-lodges) along the beaches and mountains off Santa Marta.

Tayrona National Park - The Park is situated in the northern Caribbean region, at the foot of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

Taganga -  This is a traditional fishing village on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, 3 km north of Santa Marta.

Ciudad Perdida - Lost City trekking is a 5 or 6 day, 44 km mountain trek, to Colombia's archaeological wonder.

Ciudad Perdida - The Lost City is believed to have been constructed 600 years before Machu Picchu.

Petroglyphs - Sierra Nevada

Guajira Peninsula coast – The peninsula has an incredibly unique beauty. It is found along the coast of northern Colombia.

San Andres and Providencia

The Coral Island of San Andres San Andres, Providencia, and Santa Catalina are islands that form an archipelago in the Caribbean, 230 km east of Nicaragua.
